WHAT TO BRING !

THE FOLLOWING IS RECOMMENDED:

• 4 Pair of comfortable and durable bush clothes, preferably khaki or olive green or Jeans. One or two pairs of close for excursions. If you want to visit Church bring clothes for that.
• Good and comfortable footwear, ankle-high or canvas shoes. Braked in.
• Many pairs of socks-not nylon type.
• One down-filled jacket and sweaters.
• Sunglasses, wide brimmed hat and sun lotion.
• Insect repellent.
• Binoculars, camera and accessories.
• Toiletries, washcloth.

CURRENCY: $

We take any Visa or Master Card.

Unfortunately we do not except American Express due to the High charge. All cards have a 3% foreign exchange fee on any transaction that will be added to your account. US $ can be used to pay. If you prefer to pay Money in to my USA Welsh Fargo account the details will be mailed to you. Make 100% sure that your card is open for use in South Africa, call them from the airport a second time and remind them

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS:

Ensure that your Passport is valid for the country of the safari.  Visas are required for some foreign travelers.  check whether you will require transit or re-entry visas for South Africa.

Children:

All Children not traveling with both parents need over and above his passport and Original consent from the parent that is not traveling with him to travel to South Africa. Also the Minor needs a original full Birth Certificate (underbridge)

FIREARMS & AMMUNITION:

Conditional to country of Safari. Details available upon request. This must be stressed!

Dangerous big game hunting should be done using a minimum .375 caliber. Please bring your own ammunition! You are permitted to bring a quantity of 100 cartridges in each caliber or gauge.

We can assist you with the fire arms temporary import but we need:

1. 1. filled in and signed SAP520 form
   2. Copy of your Passport
   3. Customs clearance form customs office not the airlines. (this form can be optaind a couple weeks before departure. Note that their offices only open between Monday and Friday 8am to 4:30pm. Your Rifle will stay in the safe in OR Tambo international if you do not have this document.

Temporary Importation of Firearms into South Africa.?

Latest Information Received from the South African Police Service

With the implementation of the new Regulations to the Firearms Control Act of 2000 on 1 July 2004 by the South African Police Service (SAPS), there are changes to the process for clients involving the temporary import of firearms for hunting purposes into South Africa.

Visitors bringing firearms into South Africa for hunting purposes, will be asked to fill in a SAP 520? Temporary Import Application which is available from your outfitter, can be downloaded off the SAPS Website at www.saps.gov.za, or be filled out on arrival. We would suggest filling in the form beforehand to save the processing time at the Police Office for yourself and the Police.

Instructions for Filling in SAP 520 Form:

1. 1. Black ink must be used to fill in the form.
   2. Should you sign the form beforehand, please make sure the form with your original signature is handed in and not a copy.
   3. Please note that not all sections of the form apply. Visitors bringing their own firearms in for hunting purposes should concentrate on filling in the following:

Section I ? (Must fill in all details requested)

Gun Rentals

We have good quality rifles that you can rent; most of them are suppress too so no need for ear protection. Cost of Gun rental is $30 a day

Ammunition for Gun rental

You order by the box beforehand Ammo for $50 a box of 20, the ammo that you don’t use you can sell them back or donate it to your PH

MODE OF TRANSPORT:

Four-wheel drive vehicles are mainly used whilst hunting.  Most Hunting is done on foot.   Comfortable walking shoes and light khaki trousers or jeans variety to protect against thorns and long grass is therefore recommended.  (see “What to Bring”).

FIRST AID & INSURANCE:

Basic first aid is available on the hunt.  Sufferers of specific allergies and ailments should provide for their own needs.  Insurance should be discussed with your broker and arranged before departure.

Liability

Any Safari activity is potentially hazardous and it is essential that all lawful directions and advice of the Safari Operators be followed @Marula Safaris and its personnel accept no responsibility for any accident or loss whatsoever during the Safari or any expenses arising from such illness, accident or loss.  We shall however do our utmost to assist you with anything should you have a problem.
